VolonterOS went from NOOB to PRO

The atmosphere in the Pannonian Association is getting warmer every day. The preparatory phase for the 22nd Pannonian Challenge, a festival of extreme sports that will take place in Osijek from 11 to 15 August 2021, is underway. As in previous years, the team strengthens every year thanks to hard-working volunteers who do not lack enthusiasm.

Same as previous year volunteers had the opportunity to participate in NFE trainings. Most of the volunteers from last year and couple of new ones went from NOOB to PRO. The three-day workshops were held from July 1st to July 3rd in the conference hall Stara pekara in Osijek. This years' training methodology was as well conceived around the idea on teaching them specific skills and knowledge in the field of event management with an emphasis on the organization of sporting events and competitions.

Main topics covered the areas of management of sports organizations and the differences between NGOs and companies, the development of sports competition and the concept of events, as well as funding opportunities both locally and internationally. The workshops used a variety of tools and methods used in management such as S.M.A.R.T. goals, Problem Tree analysis and others that are adapted to the whole concept of non-formal learning. An integral part of training is to also have fun so volunteers got to enjoy playing games and expressing themselves creatively. During the Pannonian Challenge, volunteers will be involved in various organizational sectors where, in addition to job shadowing of key managers, they will monitor the work and help the assigned leader of the festival according to their own competencies and interests.
